Regulators of Trade will update on import and export of agricultural goods. Exporters can have information on potential countries for exports based on the past 5 years data. Importers also will have similar information on the previous years data. all export and import procedures including prescribed forms can be accessed. Research, university, academicians and students can access latest developments through SPS articles. Information on SPS is scattered over several ministries websites and private portals. and attempt is made through this web-portal to make the SPS information at one place. Userguide will be helpful accessing information form this portal. The Web Portal is developed as SPS Information Management System in public domain to enhance public awareness and also help the stakeholders to have SPS related information at one stop on this web portal. The expected key result areas include enhanced market access through information and capacity building on important areas of export and import related to SPS. Information shall include SPS and value chain related issues to relevant organizations (stakeholders, input suppliers, research organizations, customs, ICD, export – import databases, rejections, interceptions, etc, Documenting Success stories of exports, National standards and best practices. USDA Project funded by USAID and implemented by APAARI Improving Phytosanitary Trade Compliance in Bangladesh” and handed over to DAE on 5 September 2022. Department of Agricultural Extension DAE has several wings extending services and providing information on agricultural technologies relevant to Bangladesh.The two main wings of DAE that have plant Quarantine regulatory functions are PQW and PPW. Currently PQW is declared as a national plant protection organisation. It facilitates imports by regulating through the issue of import permit protecting domestic agriculture from exoctic pests. It also issues a phytosanitary certificate needed for the export. More Foreign Agriculture Service (USDA/FAS) The Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS)/Trade and Regulatory Capacity Building Division (TRCBD) provides trade partners with capacity building that enables their adoption and implementation of obligations under the international Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Agreement of the World Trade Organization (WTO). FAS and the U.S. Agency for international Development (USAID) work hand in hand to increase Bangladesh’s ability to improve its institutional regulatory system through the Bangladesh SPS Trade Capacity Building Program. More USAID USAID is the world’s premier international development agency and a catalytic actor driving development results. USAID’s work advances U.S. national security and economic prosperity, demonstrates American generosity, and promotes a path to recipient self-reliance and resilience. APAARI It is a membership-based, apolitical, multi-stakeholder, and intergovernmental regional organization. As an important intermediary in the region, it is bridging national, regional and global stakeholders to bring about collective change in agri-food systems of Asia-Pacific. APAARI is the implementing agency of project improving phytosanitary trade complaints in bangladesh in association with USDA and funding agency USAID. More Regulatory Stakeholders DAE is hosting this web portal. The key regulators are in the PQW of DAE, issuing the Import Permits & Phytosanitary Certification for imports and exports of agricultural goods.
